4348 <p>The original print of this design was a unique, experimental woodcut as part of my Hoi An series in 2019. Using the different woodcut print layers and a mirror reflection effect, I created this composition of an ice cream lady riding her cart down a main street in Hoi An old town. I tried to use bright colours that Hoi An is known for and also borrow a palette commonly seen in different flavours of ice cream to give the illusion of a hot day in town. You can hear the chimes of ice cream sellers on all corners Hoi An and every city in Vietnam.</p>

Yes, it is to celebrate life without a birthday, specific festival, or event, just to enjoy the company of friends or relatives whilst drinking local beer (Bia Hoi) and eating light, meaty dishes. "Nhau" spots are inexpensive BBQ places that are generally very busy with local workers relaxing after a long day and have rows of metal tables and small plastic stalls. 40369 <p>While on a photography walk in District 4, Jack Clayton came across an old market area right by the river, a stone’s throw from downtown District 1. This part of the town had avoided the new, flashy apartment buildings, which you can see in the image encroaching from both sides. The artist could not help but photograph the old, leaning building that looked as if it could fall at any moment.</p>
